In Canada, 4500 people are diagnosed with Kidney Cancer and 1 in 3 die of the disease. It is the most lethal genitourinary cancer and its incidence is increasing. Unlike most human cancers, there is considerable knowledge about specific genetic changes in these cancers. Major advances in treatment are being made due to new systematic targeted therapies as well as less morbid technologies for localised cancers.
